I’m Liisa-Maija “Lissu” Malinen — founder of AI with Values Oy
I’m a facilitator and learning designer working with R&D and leadership teams who build complex, high-impact systems.
My focus is the human side of responsible AI design: the skills, structures, and conversations that shape judgment under uncertainty. I’m based in Jyväskylä, Finland, and work in both Finnish and English with clients internationally.
What I do
Most teams don’t lack values. They lack the capacity to act ethically when things move fast, when stakes are high, and when the technology itself keeps reshaping the questions.
That’s the gap I work in. I help organisations diagnose their ethical AI maturity, design tailored learning processes, and facilitate the human conversations that move them forward. The maturity model is the map; I am the guide.
From Fear to Wisdom
I am the creator of A Maturity Model for Humane, Values-Driven AI, a five-stage framework that describes how organisations evolve from risk-based compliance toward what I call Systems Wisdom. The model is documented in the white paper “From Fear to Wisdom: A Maturity Model for Humane, Values-Driven AI” and is grounded in ten established bodies of research that connect ethics, cognition, and systems thinking.
The framework is in active use across consulting engagements, facilitator training, and the development of AI products themselves.
Two ventures
Alongside AI with Values, I am a co-founder of Ozyntel, where we’re building a digital twin for organisational transformation.
I lead ethical and humane AI development for the product, applying the From Fear to Wisdom framework inside live AI work — the same framework I use with clients, tested against the daily realities of building an AI system. It is where the methodology meets a real product roadmap, and where the maturity model continues to evolve.
Background
My professional foundation is ten years of facilitation and seven years of learning design across manufacturing, IT, and education. That background is the engine behind the work: research-grounded diagnosis combined with learning design expertise and facilitation skill. I hold an M.Sc. (Econ.) from the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics.
AI with Values Oy was renamed in May 2026 (previously operating as ILO Facilitation Oy). The change reflects a sharper focus on the questions that matter most now: how organisations build judgement, governance, and integrity around the AI systems they create and use.
